This privacy policy describes how the Hextree GmbH i.G. (subsequently “Hextree”, “we”, “us”) uses and processes the personal data we collect when you use our website.

What data do we collect?

We collect the following data:
- Personal identification information (Name, email address)
- All interaction with our courses (such as course progress, submitted flags, viewed videos)
- Payment data

How do we collect your data?

You directly provide us with most of the data we collect. We collect data and process data when you use our site (by registering, logging in, browsing). We do this by utilizing a session-cookie once you are logged into our site.

We may also receive your data indirectly from the following sources:
- Payment information provided through any of our payment providers (listed further down)
- Data submitted by you through Webflow forms

How will we use your data?

We collect your data so that we can:
- Process your subscriptions
- Provide courses
- Email you with news and offers (if opted in)

How do we store your data?

We utilize Google Cloud services to host and provide the main site functionality. These services are provided by Google LLC (https://www.google.de/intl/de/about/) (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, MountainView, CA 94043, USA). Google servers might be located in the US, which will cause processing and transfer of your data to the United States. This is in accordance with Art. 45 DSGVO. All aforementioned data might be stored and/or processed on these services.

This data processing is required to provide the functions of our site, and falls under Art. 6 Abs. 1 S. 1 lit. b DSGVO, as the functions are required to fulfil our contractual obligations with our users. The interest of fulfilling these obligations prevails the interests and rights of the affected user in accordance with Art. 6 Abs. 1 S. 1 lit. fDSGVO.

Additionally, the landing page and some of the forms on our site are hosted and provided by Webflow Inc, a Delaware corporation (“Webflow”). By using our site (and the forms contained within) your data will be provided to and processed by Webflow, in accordance to a data processing agreement between us and Webflow.

This site uses Matomo to analyze traffic and help us to improve your user experience. We process your email address and IP address, and cookies are stored on your browser for 13 months. This data is only processed by us and our web hosting platform.

To provide our site functionality we use multiple additional external services, some of which might process your data in the United States.

YouTube

We embed videos of the website YouTube. Operator of that website is Google Ireland Limited (“Google”), Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. When you visit one of our sites in which YouTube videos are embedded, a connection to the YouTube servers will be established. We embed videos of the website Vimeo. Operator of that website is Vimeo Inc.. If you sign-up for one of our services, all e-mail communication will be done via SendGrid. As such, they will have access to all personal information (such as name, purchases) done through our site. Our use of SendGrid is required to provide some of our services, which constitutes a legitimate interest in accordance with Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. f DSGVO. All payment functionality is provided by Paddle.com Inc: 3811 Ditmars Blvd, 1071, Astoria, NY 11105-1803, USA. If you purchase a subscription, your payment data as well as personal information such as name, e-mail address and phone-number, will be transferred to Paddle. Our use of Paddle is required to provide some of our services, which constitutes a legitimate interest in accordance with Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. f DSGVO.
